If the work is about community, how can it make me famous? How will I be rich from this? SERIOUSLY GUYS ISN'T THAT THE GAME HERE?
Maybe. Probably. Does it matter? Not really. I t hink that there is room for "pretty stuff on the wall" as well as "watch me change the world" type art.
What matters in these works is that not only does it provoke conversation within sectors of the community that would not converse, but it connects artists with these community sectors too, in a way.
