Ran across them a few years back from some goth girl, but just sort of put it in the "somewhere in there there is a message, but IDK WTF." pile, much like Einsturzende Neubauten.
I kind of see that it is trying to confront us with the fucked-up-ness of how capitalist/totalitarian society operates, but really it just ends up being a buncha goths sitting around drinking heavily to it, while the rest of society sits around drinking heavily listening to Nickelback.
I think I need to pay close attention in the class tomorrow.
you are not even close - not emo, take a look at the live clips, thousands of people have seen it, emo's weren't invented in the 80s (goths were but they were into the sisters, bauhaus etc). The industrial post-punks were into Laibach, Coil, Cab Volt, Neubauten. Laibach has by far had the most far researching effect in terms action
