Food for Thought- a viable artistic economy?

As part of Sydney Design 10 there will be a portable kiosk popping up around the city, which will serve soup in exchange for 140 word in response to the location/Sydney Design 10. It is entitled "Food for thought".

It is an interesting premise; certainly not unique but up-front about its expectations of an engaged response.

The question is does this amount to anything more than a marketing ploy, or does it qualify as artistic enterprise, and if so, despite demanding a critical engagement between participants, is it a shallow one-liner or a congenial gratification/qualification of the 'artsy-ness' of such an event, and the community surrounding it.

What ever it ends up being, hurrah for free soup!
